BLOOD FEAST
n the 2012 film , sound engineer Gilderoy (Toby Jones) travels to Italy for a job on a fictitious slasher picture and soon gets engulfed by the madness he sees on screen. Though his background isn’t in foley work, he gets roped into helping out with the manufacturing of sound effects, a process shown in visceral passages of uncanny violence. To simulate the audio that would accompany the hideous gore of the footage they’ve been given, he and his team mutilate all manner of fresh produce, ripping open cabbages and attacking melons with a hammer.
