You will need

■ Background Fabric A (quilt centre and Hourglass blocks) – 1yd

■ Background Fabric B (Sawtooth border and appliqué vine border) – ¾yd

■ Gold floral fabric (Sawtooth border, outer border and Hourglass blocks) – 1⅜yds

■ Stripy fabric (mitred border) – ¼yd

■ Red fabric (accent border, binding* and Hourglass blocks) – 1yd

■ A wide selection of assorted fabrics (appliqué centre block, vine border and Hourglass blocks) – 1½yds total

■ Green fabric (bias vine strips and Hourglass blocks) – ½yd

■ DMC variegated thread – 4065, 4122

■ Batting – 62in square

■ Backing fabric – 3½yds

■ Binding fabric – ½yd*

■ Templates (see Templates section)

■ Template plastic

■ Freezer paper

■ Fabric glue pen

■ Roxanne’s Glue Baste It

■ ‘Perfect Stems’ Bias bars

Finished size

■ 54in square

Notes

■ Use a ¼in seam allowance throughout.

■ Véronique used a turned-edge method for the appliqué, or use your preferred method.

■ WOF = width of fabric.

■ BKG = background.

■ RS = right side.

■ WS = wrong side. *1yd includes the ½yd required for binding fabric, reduce this to ½yd if you plan to use leftover prints or an alternative fabric for your binding.

Cutting out

1 From BKG Fabric A, cut one (1) 26in square for the centre appliqué block.

2 From BKG Fabric B, cut the following for the Sawtooth and appliqué vine borders:
