SUNSET SILHOUETTE

You will need

■ Eleven (11) different coloured fabrics for the landscape – One (1) 4in x 15½in strip of each

■ Pale blue fabric – One (1) 8in x 15½in strip

■ Charcoal fabric – 10in x 16in

■ Batting – 16in x 25in

■ Fine matching thread for needle-turn appliqué such as Aurifil 80wt cotton

■ Aurifil 12wt cotton thread for quilting (optional)

■ Tree templates (see Templates section)

Tips for improv curves

The landscape is created using improv curve piecing. This means you are not given a template but are cutting your own curves freehand. These tips will help guide you through the process:

■ Ensure both fabric pieces are right
