PAINTING SOVIET CAMOUFLAGE IN 15MM THE RED ARMY IN AMOEBA GREEN

Soviets also had their own camouflage patterns, such as the makirovochnyi kamuflirovannyi kostium, also known as MKK or Amoeba. Issued in 1938 in two options (autumn and spring), it was employed by snipers, reconnaissance units, pioneers, and observers. Here we will see how to paint this characteristic camouflage using 15mm miniatures by Flames of War. Paints are from Vallejo Model Color (VMC), Vallejo Model Air (VMA), Vallejo Game Color (VGC), and Scale Color (SC).

PREPARATION

Start by carefully removing flash and mould lines from each model with a modelling knife and file. I prefer to paint the miniatures individually as I can easily reach all areas. For this, you can fix them onto small holders such as paint caps with self-adhesive putty (e.g. Blu Tack).
