REAL LOVE

Lying back on the hospital bed, I felt the cold jelly on my bump.

It was my 12-week scan, and I was so excited to see my baby for the first time in 2016.

Only, as the sonographer’s face fell and she peered closer to the screen, I began to panic.

The baby is fine,’ she smiled. ‘However, it looks like there are some cysts.’

As she pointed to some blurry spots on the screen, my heart dropped.

‘What does that mean?’ I quickly panicked.

The sonographer couldn’t tell me much, but I was soon referred to Bristol’s St Michael’s Hospital.

As a single parent, I was absolutely terrified.

I had no idea what the cysts were, and it was weeks before my appointment.

Back at home, I tried to Google, but I had no idea what
