TRASH INTO TREASURE

Amid the roses and rhododendrons, this year’s Chelsea Flower Show announced the winner of its first ever award for Sustainable Garden Product of the Year. The winner was a range of brightly coloured plant pots made from discarded rope and fishing net. The man behind the idea for ‘Ocean Plant Pots’ is Ally Mitchell, and the products are the result of his determination to tackle the harmful impact of waste in our seas, by turning it into something new. The award serves to demonstrate a growing recognition of the importance of his mission.
