Healthy bacteria in the gut ferment fibres in your diet, and in the process they produce short-chain fatty acids – some of which enter the bloodstream and have been shown to improve Gut health also impacts on post-exercise recovery and cognitive function, so looking after your gut by eating plenty of fibre-rich plant foods could be the key to unlocking your potential.
