Milestone strangles research tracks strains across world

RESEARCH tracking the strangles bacterium across the world has been described as an important milestone, as it reveals more about how the disease spreads and thrives.
The study, published in journal , involved scientists in 18 countries using DNA-sequencing techniques as it caused strangles in a number of countries. Strangles is the most commonly diagnosed infectious equine disease, with an estimated 600 UK outbreaks every year.
