1 Line a 500g loaf tin with cling film. Arrange a layer of Maltesers in the base. Set aside an equal number of Maltesers for decoration later, then crush two-thirds of the remaining Maltesers.

2 Spoon some ice cream over the Maltesers in the base and sprinkle over some crushed and whole Maltesers. Repeat the layers, finishing with the ice cream. Freeze for at least 6 hrs or overnight, until firm.

3 To make the sauce, put the chocolate, golden syrup and water in a bowl suitable for the microwave. Heat on medium for 2 mins, checking every 30 secs, until the sauce is melted and smooth. Cool slightly.
