ON July 17, the minister of health, Zweli Mkhize, announced a reduction in the self-isolation period recommended for people who test positive for Covid-19 (a test shows they have Covid-19) from 14 to 10 days.
It’s important that we all understand what this means.
First, we need to understand what it means to “self-isolate” or “self-quarantine” and what the difference is. It’s likely that in the weeks and months to come, we will experience the need to self-isolate or self-quarantine at home as a result of Covid-19 infection or exposure.
