Finn class fraternity

It was great to read about K17 Allegretto and K19 Elfinn. My late father John Turner sailed Finns from the early 1960s and made many lifelong friends, including Brian Saffery-Cooper – ‘Hooter’ – who sailed at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, so I have a very soft spot for the class.

Some years ago Dad (and if memory serves me right, Brian) donated K65 to the National Maritime Museum (see attached photo) and she is now part of the National Small Boat Collection. I believe was, like , a Fairey hull. Also part of the Collection is K007 that had been owned by Richard Creagh Osborne and is thought to be the oldest Finn in existence.
