A Residential Space that Evokes a Sense of Community: a round architects
Our lives navigate a seemingly repetitive but rapidly evolving sociocultural stream. However, it can seem as if Korea’s residential spaces and concepts have remained fixed as those of a now long outmoded past. With his focus on multi-household/multi-family residences, the architect Park Changhyun (principal, a round architects) contemplates the most effective means of improving the living conditions for inhabitants via shared space. He is experimenting with the new possibilities for multi-household / multi-family residences by making appropriate adjustments to the psychological distance between houses, ensuring sufficient light and air circulation in shared spaces, and introducing programmes that will invite a sense of community. May the physical proposals of this architect manifest as promising new living conditions and actual and real lived experiences for inhabitants!
