    WHAT A TRAGEDY

    My heart bleeds for Gill Mathewson (YOU, 10 September), who had to witness her husband, West, being mauled to death by his two “friendly lions”. I can’t imagine anything more horrific.

    Gill had previously stated that the lionesses weren’t aggressive and they honestly didn’t believe they’d attack anyone. How many more lion owners need to die at the hands of their pets before someone realises
