We arrived at Perch Hill, a 90-acre farm in East Sussex, 25 years ago. With a young family, moving here from a small London garden, I was determined to grow a bit of veg. There was a good farm shop 20 minutes away, but it was easier to walk out the door and pick at least some of what we ate, right there.
