In such unprecedented times when the fiftieth London Book Fair had to be postponed, it might be easy to assume all publishing houses’ schedules are also on hold. However, any budding writers gifted free time due to furlough or simply working from home can now pull that burning novel idea down from their proverbial sleeve. On one locked-down Monday, literary agent Juliet Mushens told the Guardian, she even received 27 submissions – a typical day would be ten to fifteen.
