FORD ESCORT Mk2

t is often said that the Mk2 Escort is much like the Mk1 Escort, only a little more squared at the edges. For a long time, values reflected that, but today the Mk2 is becoming very popular again and some models can even rival the original and apparently best. While it’s true that the Mk2 carried over much of the mechanical components from the Mk1, this is to ignore the fact that Ford gave the Escort regular updates right from 1968 to the introduction of the Mk2 in 1975, meaning that the new car benefitted from improved levels of noise suppression, a better ride, and revised gearing. Improvements specifically for the Mk2 were not inconsiderable either, particularly when it came to interior packaging.
