Chris never made it to university

Curling up on the sofa with a cup of tea, I reached for the remote and put on a Japanese anime film. They were my son Chris’ favourite and we loved watching them together. But now, as I looked at the empty seat next to me, the tears soon came. It felt like an eternity since I’d last heard Chris’ gentle voice and saw his beautiful smile.

My only child, Chris, was born in March 2000, and he brought me so much joy. An intelligent boy, Chris always had his head buried in a book. He was mature and loved to learn, asking for his first book about psychology in 2011, when he was just 11.
