The day my husband died started perfectly. It was 8 December 2008 and our closest friends had come to visit. Nephews, sisters and parents had popped by and the day was full of love, smiles and hugs. We had a curry and put the Christmas tree up, our favourite tunes playing in the background. It had been a month since Chris was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour, and we were savouring every moment of the five years we hoped he had to live. Chemotherapy had begun at the Bristol Royal Infirmary but he was allowed home for a few hours each day.
