Are you all virused out?

They’ve heard the safety messages, they’ve seen the rising numbers of infections, yet some South Africans have developed a worrying semblance of “fatigue” regarding the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, particularly when it comes to adherence to non-pharmaceutical interventions.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize recently expressed his concern about those who were letting their guard down at a time when infections were surging.

“We see poor or no social distancing in communities. Masks are being abandoned or not worn properly and there is laxity setting in around frequent hand washing,” he said.
