You will need

■ Fabric 1 (dark orange print) – ⅝yd

■ Fabric 2 (mid yellow print) – ⅜yd

■ Fabric 3 (dark yellow print) – ¾yd

■ Fabric 4 (dark orange print) – ⅝yd

■ Fabric 5 (mid yellow print) – ⅝yd

■ Fabric 6 (dark yellow print) – ½yd

■ Fabric 7 (mid orange print) – ¼yd

■ Fabric 8 (off-white print) – 4yds

■ Fabric 9 (dark green print) – 3⅝yds

■ Fabric 10 (light green print) – 3¼yds

■ Fabric 11 (mauve print) – ½yd

■ Fabric 12 (blue print) – ¼yd

■ Fabric 13 (light yellow print) – 1¾yds

■ Batting – 90in square

■ Backing fabric – 5¾yds

■ Binding fabric – ¾yd*

■ FPP templates: centre block quadrant x 36; border A x 64; border B x 64 (see Templates section)

Finished size

■ 82in square

Notes

■ WOF = width of fabric.

■ FPP = foundation paper piecing.

■ RS = right side. WS = wrong side.

■ Use scant ¼in seams & press to one side (unless otherwise instructed).

■ Numbers on Figs denote fabric except when shown on paper foundation.

■ *if single colour, otherwise see step 10 for multicoloured binding.

Quilt layout and preparation

The quilt is made up of a centre panel of nine (9) blocks. This is surrounded by four borders, two of which are pieced. Border 2 uses the same FPP templates as the block borders, but in different colour arrangements – see

Fig 1 for the quilt layout. Before you start cutting and stitching, refer to Foundation Paper Piecing Tips. See

for a fabric key. The centre blocks and Border 2 use foundation.
