COLLECTOR’S MEDALLION

You will need

■ Dark background fabric – 2¾yds

■ Light background fabric – 2½yds

■ Assorted prints – approx. 4yds

■ Batting – 90in square

■ Backing – 5½yds

■ Binding fabric – ⅝yd

■ Templates (see Templates section)

■ Freezer paper

Finished size

■ 81in square

Fabrics used

■ Hindsight plus Designer Solids and assorted AMH prints from Laura’s stash, all by FreeSpirit Fabrics.

Notes

■ Use a ¼in seam throughout.

■ Laura used a turned-edge method for the appliqué, but you can use your preferred method.

■ BG = background.

■ WOF = width of fabric.

■ Some WOF strips will need to be joined to create the longer border lengths.

Cutting out

1 From Dark BG, for the centre medallion, cut as follows:

■ Four (4) 7⅝in squares, subcut in half along diagonal to make eight (8) setting triangles.

■ Eight (8) 3¾in squares cut diagonally into triangles (for A1).

■ Thirty-two (32) 2in x 6in strips (for A3 and B1).

■ Sixty-four (64) 2½in squares.
