”I’ve setup a custom shooting mode on my EOS 7D Mark II, is there any way to change the stored settings?”
Edwin Baker, Machynlleth
BRIAN SAYS… Indeed there is a really simple way, within the custom shooting setup menus. Start by looking for the Auto update settings option and enable it. When you register a Custom shooting mode the camera copies all the active customization settings to your Custom shooting mode. If for some reason you need to change a specific setting, turn the mode dial to the required Custom shooting mode, and enable Auto update. Now make any necessary changes to update the stored settings.
I usually leave Auto update enabled on my cameras to make Custom shooting modes behave like any other mode. With C1 configured as a copy of Aperture Priority, when I change the aperture the stored settings are updated. Studio photographers who shoot with the same shutter speed, aperture and ISO all the time may prefer to disable the Auto update in the menu.
