CATCHING UP WITH KAITLIN COLLESS AT SEVENOAKS FARM

Tell us about your background?

I grew up in a horsey family, my parents were involved in the Thoroughbred industry and my mum was a top level eventer. Some of my earliest memories are lunging horses in nappies, so it’s probably fair to say I was always keen on horses! Like most kids, I tried every discipline from Pony Club to Showing to Campdrafting but Eventing was my favourite - I just loved the adrenalin! It wasn’t until I went on my first working student trip to Germany as a 17yo that I truly appreciated the magic of dressage. I was lucky enough to be based with the Bruening family in the centre of the Hanoverian breeding district and I came home absolutely obsessed with dressage and all things Hanoverian and breeding related.
