The new Mavic Air 2 is the latest generation of the DJI dynasty. The Mavic range is DJI’s family of consumer camera drones; the now-familiar folding design has cascaded down from the Mavic (launched in August 2018) through to the recent super-light Mavic Mini (which arrived in late 2019). The only outlier was the original Mavic Air, from early 2018. Its friendly styling in a choice of colours was a plus, but even at launch the Mavic Air had some major drawbacks: its battery life
