Pulling off the covers, I jumped out of bed.
Rushing to the bathroom, I made it just in time before I threw up.
Afterwards, I stifled a sob as I splashed my face with cold water.
The bedside clock said 4am and it was the fourth time I’d got up to be sick.
‘Sorry, love,’ I whispered softly to my husband John, then 66, as I climbed wearily back into bed.
