THREE TO GO

The Mk3 Cortina has always had its fair share of fans and none more so than 60-year-old Gary Sherwin who’s owned no less than eight of them to date! “I’ve always been an enthusiast of older Fords and have had at least 20 in total,” he smiles, “I’ve owned Escorts, Granadas, Capris and Sierras, but the Mk3 Cortina has always been a firm favourite.”

Around four years ago, Gary was on the lookout for his next project; his passion for old Fords never seeming to waver. “I spotted the advert for this Mk3, but it had a twist,” Gary explains, “although it had left the factory as a genuine GXL in 1972, the previous owner had attempted to make it resemble a Mustang!” This had involved modifying the front end along with installing
