Knots Being Creative Again

THROUGHOUT THE CENTURIES, the ability to tie knots was mainly a survival skill. Somewhere through the ages knots became more than just survival skills, it became an art.

Macramé, the modern art of decorating with knots, is believed to have originated with 13th-century Arab weavers, spreading across the world to Spain and throughout Europe with decorating rugs, home wear and cloths. Sailors used knots to make hammocks amongst other decorative items which they often traded in their travels for other items of need.
