EASTER FUDGE

Easy in the microwave

This playful delight decorated with tiny Easter eggs is the perfect treat over Easter weekend – for young and old alike.

Ingredients

(makes 16 squares)

2 cups castor sugar
1 tin (385 g) of condensed milk
½ cup soft butter
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
½ cup speckled eggs
½ cup chocolate balls, we used Chuckles

Here’s how

1 Pour the sugar, condensed milk and butter into a deep microwave-proof bowl. Stir everything and melt the mixture for 2 minutes on high in the microwave. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the batter again until smooth.

cook the mixture five times at 2 minutes a time (thus a total of 10 minutes) or until the fudge has a lovely caramel colour. The strength of your microwave oven can affect the cooking time – so if your fudge appears too light, cook it for another 2 minutes.
