BENEATH THE COVERS: CONCEPTION TO BIRTH.

Like most fathers planning the conception of their first-born, my ideas for a new magazine were created when I was young and foolish. Now I am old and foolish, but I can see now when looking back that even for the foreplay stage I had not chosen the best time. It came just after a dreadful experience when I was trying to make a living as a freelance journalist. Trying to do that in Australia is as easy as using a telephoto lens to take a sharp handheld photograph at ¼ second and f2.0.
