WHAT IS CRYOTHERAPY?
Used to treat minor skin conditions for more than 100 years, cryotherapy utilises extremely low temperatures of liquid nitrogen to simply freeze off affected parts of your skin. Ever had a wart removed by a doctor? You’ve likely had cryotherapy.
Whole-body cryotherapy uses the same nitrogen gas, but it never touches your skin. Instead, you stand in a chamber surrounded by dry air that's been cooled by the gas to below 110°C. The concept originated in Japan in the ‘70s, when a rheumatologist first used it to treat joint problems.
