JOHN RIGBY & CO INTRODUCES NEW CARTRIDGE

In a surprise move, esteemed London gunmakers John Rigby & Co introduced a new rifle cartridge in April 2019 specifically for use in double rifles. The .416 Rigby No 2, as the new cartridge has been named, is a rimmed version of the firm’s venerable .416 Rig-by cartridge, introduced in 1911 for use in Magnum Mauser bolt-action rifles.

The .416 Rigby No 2 is the first new cartridge introduced by Rigby in more than a century and is ballistically identical to the .416 Rigby. It fires a 410gr bullet at 2 400fps for 5 000ft/lbs of muzzle energy.
