WHEN YOU ARE SAD CHASE AWAY YOUR WINTER BLUES

As the air cools and the skies darken, so does some people’s mood. This time of year can mark the start of a recurrent cycle of depression that can affect your ability to function emotionally, physically and even socially.

This condition is known as seasonal affective disorder (SAD), and is classified by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) as a “specifier” in major depression. What this means is that those who experience SAD tend to have their bouts of depression reoccur at certain times of the year.
