The now famous ethos of Kevin Plank, founder and former CEO of one of the biggest sportswear companies in the world, Under Armour. Unlike its major rivals Adidas, Nike and Reebok, Under Armour is still a surprisingly young brand but one that has grown exponentially in a very short time. It’s also a brand that came into existence because it’s future CEO was the sweatiest man in the football locker room. This is the story of the meteoric rise of Under Armour and its founder Kevin Plank.

Plank, a Roman Catholic, grew up in Kensington, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C., he was the youngest of five brothers born to William and Jayne Plank. His father was a prominent Maryland land developer and his mother was a former mayor of Kensington, who went on to direct the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the United States Department of State under President Ronald Reagan.
