WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS

For a lot of riders, getting on a bike for the weekend epitomises their riding life; but then there are those of us for whom bikes are a necessity for sanity, a pit for all hard-earned cash, and most of all, a reason and means to escape. Some of those escapes are harder to reach than most, and New Zealanders are lucky to have a plethora of these right on our doorstep.

For those inclined to roll up their sleeves and put in a bit of hard yakka, the harder the adventure the better, but for your weekend warrior, these secluded and niggly destinations are next to impossible to get to. Until, that is, the likes of the NZ Enduro, which kindly sorts all the fiddly bits and makes it easy for old mate to turn up, get fed some of the nicest food around, ride some insane trails with a hell of a crew, and cruise off again without having to do as much as clean their bike.
