Coronavirus: San Antonio Says Evacuees Will Leave Quarantine After A CDC Change

More than 120 evacuees from the Diamond Princess cruise ship will finally leave Lackland Air Force Base on Tuesday. The city had initially sought to block their release, citing flawed criteria.

The city of San Antonio says more than 120 evacuees from the Diamond Princess cruise ship will leave Lackland Air Force Base on Tuesday, one day after the mayor's frustration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention led him to declare a public health emergency to block the evacuees from leaving the base.

Both San Antonio and Bexar County had moved to keep the CDC from moving more evacuees without further tests, after a woman who was released from coronavirus quarantine at the military base over the weekend was later found to be infected with the COVID-19
