MODEL STUDENT

Everyone has a high school story to tell; some are great, others are horror stories too painful to even explain. My high school years were great until my junior year. I always loved going to school and learning, but when I became a junior, everything seemed to reach a level of stress I wasn’t used to. I was trying to balance school, good grades, being social, working at a pizza place, and, the most time consuming, modeling.

This was a new type of schedule for me and the more I tried to balance everything, the more stressful it got. In fact, things got so bad that I started to get anxiety. I would get anxious even just waiting for the morning bell in my car. I cried multiple times a week at school because I felt like it was impossible to control and balance everything in my life. I was turning into a complete wreck and anything I tried to do to fix it only made it worse.

I finally decided to switch to online high school my second semester of junior year. This was probably one of the best decisions I’ve made for the sake of my own health. Online school gave me the opportunity to travel and model while doing my school work in any given location. This dramatically decreased my stress and helped me stay on top of my school work, while being able to do what I loved, modeling.

While this decision did help, I still wasn’t in the best place. I still had plenty of problems that all revolved around being stressed out,
