    Posing in front of a floor-to-ceiling window with sweeping views out over the Hudson River and the Manhattan skyline, Don Peebles’s family welcome HELLO! into their ultra-modern apartment on the 62nd floor of a towering New York skyscraper.

    “I have to confess I’d never lived so high up, but we wanted something with a lot of light and we had the good fortune to discover this marvellous flat,” says Don’s wife Katrina, whom the property mogul – one of the US’s most powerful, with an empire that has developed or built $8bn (£6.15bn) of property across the country – calls his “greatest adviser”.
