Figs with blue cheese and pancetta
Serves 6 as an appetiser Preparation time 10 minutes Cooking time about 5 minutes
This recipe, sent in by reader Juliette Newman from Port Elizabeth, is a celebration of simplicity with only four ingredients.
You need
• 12 ripe figs
• 12 strips of pancetta or black forest ham
• 1 tub (200 g) cream cheese, blue cheese flavour
• ciabatta bread, to serve
Here’s how
1 Cut a cross into each fig. Wrap each fig in a strip of pancetta. Put the figs in a big fireproof pan, or small individual pans if you prefer. 2 Melt the cheese in a pot until smooth and pour it over the figs. 3 The dish is ready to eat, but if you want you can also brown
