STARTUP COSTS: ‘My startup cost was the price of my KitchenAid mixer, some ingredients and a few sheets of greaseproof paper,’ says Lexi. ‘I was using my mom’s kitchen. I built our website myself with the help of YouTube: if you’re prepared to do a lot of the legwork yourself (and watch a ton of YouTube tutorials!) you can start a business with very little.’

TURNOVER: ‘Our business has grown about 35 percent year on year, and our turnover has grown to the point where we employ 17 people.’
