Will our kids ever be GROWN-UPS?

When I first had children, it became obvious that I would have to widen my skill set. For instance, I would need to learn to produce meals that weren’t merely ‘toast’, but included the expected components – protein, carbs, vegetables – at least when the kids had friends round. Likewise, it seemed expected that I would take on the role of family secretary/cheerleader, not only remembering but pretending to enjoy those interminable gymnastic displays that always resulted in hot-faced children crying feverishly in a dismal village hall.
