Inclement weather can be a real challenge when growing your own so a greenhouse or polytunnel can help give us an edge. They are also great for starting off crops, growing tender ones or they can be used to extend the growing season. You can pretty much grow all crops under cover in a greenhouse or polytunnel but some are better suited.
CROPS PREFERRING PROTECTION
TOMATOES: Some tomatoes can be grown outdoors but many do better under cover and are also less likely to succumb to blight later in the season.
Outdoor types are available but the best smooth-skinned types need a warm greenhouse or polytunnel
