BORDEAUX

BORDEAUX SUPÉRIEUR

92 Château de l’Aubrade 2016 Cuvée Prestige (Bordeaux Supérieur). A powerful wine, this is impressive in its richness. It shows how the quality of the 2016 vintage went right through the range of Bordeaux wines. Its concentration and density is matched by juicy black fruits and freshness. Drink from 2022. Profile Wine Imports. —R.V.

92 Château du Pavillon 2016 Cuvée Réservée (Bordeaux Supérieur). This ripe, dense wine has plenty of black fruits as well as structure. It is rich, with a good future. With acidity giving considerable freshness and the tannins still softening, the wine needs some time, so drink from 2022. Eagle Eye Brands. Best Buy. —R.V.

abv: 13.5% Price: $15

92 Château Fleur Haut Gaussens 2016 Grand Vin (Bordeaux Supérieur). An attractively perfumed, wood-aged wine, this is ripe and developing well. Plush tannins and ripe fruits show both plenty of freshness and the still-solid structure. This will be a fine wine in the years to come, so just wait to drink until 2021. Z Wine Gallery Imports. —R.V.

abv: 14% Price: $NA

91 Château de l’Aubrade 2016 Bordeaux Supérieur. Big, smoky and bold, this wood-aged wine has ripe black fruits, rich tannins and excellent potential. Its structure is still firm, but the weight of black fruits is very much there. Drink from 2022. Profile Wine Imports. —R.V.

abv: 13.5% Price: $NA

91 Château de Ribebon 2016 Cabernet Franc (Bordeaux Supérieur). The cigar-box perfumes of Cabernet Franc are unmistakable, as is the stalky structure of this young wine. With its wood aging and spicy character, this wine is worth aging. Drink from 2021. Serge Doré Selections. Editors’ Choice. —R.V.
