Analysis: Trump has little to show for his efforts on Mideast peace and North Korea

WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump starts the new year with his foreign policy record pretty much intact: 0 for 3.

None of his most championed causes - a peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians, disarmament of nuclear North Korea, the fall of Iran's leadership - has produced desired results. To the contrary, especially with this week's storming of the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad, those endeavors have suffered considerable setbacks.

Trump can point to a handful of accomplishments around the globe, such as the military raid that ended in the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and the House passage last month of a revamped trade deal with Mexico and Canada.
