Make the most of the winter light and be out and about first thing.

•Be out earlyTo ensure you don’t miss the spectacular lighting, be on location at least half an hour (ideally an hour) before sunrise.•Have a composition in mindUse a location you are familiar with and already have a composition in mind for. You can always tweak the shot when you’re out and about, but it’s best to be prepared.•Depth of fieldMake the most of the textures in the foreground by using a narrow depth of field – try around f/11.
