    Senate Confirms William Barr As Next Attorney General

    The prominent Republican lawyer will return to lead the Justice Department for a second time. He first served as attorney general under George H.W. Bush in the early '90s.

    William Barr, pictured during a meeting on Capitol Hill on Jan. 9, has been confirmed as the next attorney general of the United States.

    The Senate voted 54-45 on Thursday to confirm William Barr as attorney general, returning him to a post he first occupied in the administration of President George H.W. Bush.

    Barr was scheduled to be sworn in
