Mourners remember Dr. Tamara O'Neal, shot by ex-fiance: 'She would want us to celebrate her life'
LA PORTE, Ind. - Brad Bunney remembers the first time Tamara O'Neal came in his office during her first year as a medical student asking questions.
"One month later, over my shoulder, I heard, 'I'm back!'" Bunney, director of the University of Illinois College of Medicine's emergency medicine residency program, chuckled.
The more than 400 people who gathered for O'Neal's funeral Friday at First Church of God in La Porte laughed with Bunney.
