Overhauled 1938 Stock returns

FOLLOWING a much-needed overhaul, the London Transport Museum’s 1938 Tube Stock unit will return to operate special services between Amersham and Harrow-on-the-Hill on September 9, as part of the annual Amersham Heritage Day celebrations.

The LTM took over responsibility for the unit from London Underground in 2000 after it had been overhauled in Acton Works in 1999. In 2002, it was certificated to operate enthusiast special services across the London Underground network, and did so successfully
