Irma Thomas, rain are a lifelong match

As usual, Irma Thomas has rain on her mind. One of her first big hits was 1962's "It's Raining," she frequently performs the spiritual "Didn't It Rain" and her 2006 album "After the Rain," partially inspired by the hurricane in her New Orleans hometown, won a Grammy Award. And during a phone conversation in early October, she's contemplating Puerto Rico, Houston and the impending Hurricane Nate, which would, thankfully, soon be downgraded to a relatively harmless tropical depression.
