- The Expedition
1
In the year 2007, astronauts Jim Parker and Michael Murphy, aboard the space shuttle Charger II, were wrapping up a routine mission. Just prior to reentry, they encountered a mysterious cloudbank in space and were never heard from again. Two years later, a metal box was unearthed at a construction site in St. Louis. In it was a previously unknown, yet apparently authentic, journal of the historic Lewis and Clark expedition written by astronaut Jim Paker. Did Parker and Murphy end up on the Lewis and Clark expedition? And if so, did they alter history or did they save it?
- Parker's Paradox
2
In the year 2007 two astronauts and their NASA spacecraft, Charger II, disappeared on reentry after a routine mission. One astronaut survived, only to find himself cast back in time. After traveling with Lewis and Clark on the Voyage of Discovery to the Pacific Coast, the timestranded astronaut Jim Parker knew he could use his knowledge of future events to his own advantage, becoming a rich man in the bargain. Parker knew the bigger scheme of things to come, but not the minute individual details of every place, person, or event. He knew in 1807 a Civil War was going to erupt. He knew eventually World Wars I and II would come, followed by the Korean and Viet Nam wars. All would come, but first he would outlive all those he befriended, helpless to stop the inevitable turn of history. Instead he becomes a nomad, lost in the vast expanse of the American Frontier. The bedraggled stranger becomes known by Native American tribes as the Lone Wanderer. The seemingly immortal Wanderer wrestles with personal demons, trying to outwit his paradoxical knowledge of the future, and being unable to prevent any of it.
- Search and War
4
When timewarped, astronaut Jim Parker found another astronaut's flight jacket on a Comanche brave in 1860. He knew he was not the only one who had been thrown back in time. If the astronaut was alive, Jim had to find him. But another event was about to interrupt his searchthe Civil War. Known to the Indians as the Lone Wanderer, he left the Indian village and rode back into the white man's world. While in Washington, Jim learns the astronaut's nameBrian Harmon, a Union soldier wounded at Bull Run. But Major Barkley has a job only Jim can do, take a cavalry company through Indian country to California and lead a gold train back. Facing outlaws, Indians, traitors and Confederates, Jim confronts an old Texas Ranger friend, who is now a rebel major. Jim's search for Harmon continues on into the building of the transcontinental railroad where he meets an old enemy.
- Winds of Texas
3
Known to the Indians as the Lone Wanderer, Jim Parker roams the western plains, living among different tribes, trying to forget the loss of his family. But he can not forget where he came fromthe twentyfirst century. He had been an United States astronaut until a space fog threw him back in time over two hundred years. Now he lives in a time period where only he knows the future. Not only that, but he feels cursed because the space cloud had changed his DNA, and now he can't age. He will be 35 forever, never able to stay in one place without raising suspicion, never able to get close to anyone again, never to have a family, always on the move, traveling wherever the winds of Texas carry him. Then he meets Sam Houston, and a cause to live for.
- The Red Horse
6
At the end of the Civil War, Jim Parker goes back to the Indians to prepare them for the future that only he knows. As an astronaut lost in a time warp in 2008, he has befriended Major Mark Barkley of the War Department, who calls on Jim for special projects. At different times, Jim is met by a rider on a huge red horse, who claims to fulfill Biblical prophesy. Jim thinks the rider is an insane preacher, but when he shows up in the middle of Custer’s battle at the Little Big Horn, he begins to wonder. Jim is joined by a former slave and a displaced Indian boy on his way to a Texas ranch where he becomes involved with a cattle drive to Dodge City. At the ranch he meets again Brian Harmon who also is a former astronaut whose mission was to go back in time to find Parker. Once he did, he decided to stay in that time period. Jim’s nemesis is outlaw Mat Grover who wants revenge for Parker’s involvement in the death of Mac’s partner. On the Lewis and Clark expedition, Jim became acquainted with Sacagawea. Her early death on the Missouri was disputed by the Cheyenne, so Jim goes to the Wind River Reservation in search of truth.
