The Protectors of Borikén Series

During the destruction of her Taíno village, Karaya is transported to the struggling finca (farm) of Juan and Diego Flores. Now being in modern day Borikén (Puerto Rico), Karaya again finds herself thrown into the middle of a battle to keep her ancestral home safe from outside invaders. She does not realize it, but her path is being guided by a mysterious force that has plans for her future. Unknowingly, Karaya inspires Juan to fight for the finca he has always loved. As they venture on this new path, Karaya experiences romantic feelings that she never thought she would have again. Despite all this, Karaya wishes to return home and must choose between her Borikén past or Borikén future.

A prequel to The Legend of the Cacique Princess: Sofía’s life is turned upside down when Hurricane María leaves destruction and chaos in her beloved Borikén (Puerto Rico). Due to the worsening conditions on the island, Sofía is forced to flee her homeland and is sent to live with her estranged father in Orlando, Florida. Struggling to overcome emotions of loss, anger, and fear, Sofía will befriend a passenger on the flight that will send her on a journey to save her island from annihilation. Given the mission to return a magical gemstone to Borikén she will encounter a powerful enemy that has other plans for the stone and the island which Sofía calls home.
